One-on-One Mentoring for Visual Artists
A One-on-One mentoring programme developed by artist Stephan Doitschinoff, drawing on his experience as an educator at the Museum of Modern Art of São Paulo (MAM) and on methodologies developed over more than two decades of studio practice. His approach has also been shaped through lectures, courses and workshops at institutions including MASP, FAAP, Belas Artes, the Irish Museum of Modern Art and the Faculty of Fine Arts of Lisbon.
The programme is for artists who want to develop their practice, deepen their research, bring greater structure to ongoing projects, or gain clarity about where they want to take their work next.
Each mentoring process is shaped around the artist’s individual practice, interests, ambitions and current challenges. Sessions may focus on artistic research and references, creative processes, studio practice, the development of a series or body of work, portfolio development, exhibition projects, opportunities for presenting and circulating work, and longer-term professional development.
The aim is to create a space for reflection, critical dialogue and sustained exchange, helping each artist gain a deeper understanding of their own practice and develop the tools to build and sustain a coherent body of work over time.
